This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a range of technical production jobs in creative arts industry environments. It applies to work in lighting and sound, music industry, entertainment customer service, entertainment technical operations, entertainment administration, staging, wardrobe, scenery and set construction, broadcasting production, live production and entertainment technical operations work environments.

They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others and have limited responsibility for the output of others.

A specific commencement date will be determined in consultation with the delivery team. A course timetable/study plan will be provided on application for the course.

Accreditation
This is a current, nationally accredited qualification from the CUA Creative Arts and Culture Training Package.

Entry Requirements Domestic

A Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) evaluation helps identify any areas where you may need additional support to help you achieve your goals.

To gain entry into CUA40420 Certificate IV Live Production and Technical Services, candidates are required to:

Undertake a Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) assessment to determine applicable support requirements.
Be fit, active and able to function effectively in a tropical environment, as this is a physically demanding course.
Produce a body of work demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to workplace requirements associated with live production and technical services in line with current industry standards.
Apply a basic knowledge of trends and traditions in at least one area of technical production.
To study part-time, students are required to be engaged in industry

Skills and knowledge may have been acquired through experience or formal study. All pre-requisite qualifications and experience will be assessed at a pre-enrolment interview.

Required Resources
Students will have 24/7 access to assessments and learning resources on CDU's online learning platform Learnline. Before you can use Learnline however, you'll need to ensure that your computer has the correct setup.

Students are issued with learning materials and handout for each unit.

Computer and internet access is required to source information and complete assessments. It is recommended students bring a laptop with them to class so they can access online resources.

Students will need to provide their own Personal Protective Equipment. This includes riggers gloves, closed shoes, safety glasses and earplugs.

It is recommended that students provide and carry multi-tool pliers such as a Leatherman/Gerbe and a set of closed-back or over-ear headphones.

This program is delivered over a period of 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time. The length of time to complete this qualification will depend on the location, study mode and/or units selected and will vary depending upon how long a student takes to reach the required competency level.
