General Description

This course covers the butt welding and electro fusion welding of polyethylene (PE) plastic pipes and pipeline components under industrial conditions both in the field and in factory conditions.

This competency is performed by operators as part of a work team.

No licensing or certification requirements exist at the time of publication. Relevant legislation, industry standards and codes of practice within Australia must be applied.

Accreditation
This is a non-award course and a Statement of Attainment will be issued for nationally recognised units of competency successfully completed.

Delivery at all locations is subject to sufficient demand and resources.

Entry Requirements Domestic

A Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) evaluation helps identify any areas where you may need additional support to help you achieve your goals.

To gain entry into the VTP361 Polywelding Training Program, candidates require:

> Certificate III in Plumbing or industry equivalent
> NT White Card
> Sufficient level of literacy and numeracy

This program is delivered over a period of 2 days full-time. The length of time to complete this qualification will depend on the location, study mode and/or units selected and will vary depending upon how long a student takes to reach the required competency level.
