This program is a short course for students wanting to build their understanding of and skills in cyber security. The course includes maintaining security of digital devices, promoting workplace cyber security awareness and best practice, contribute to cyber security threat assessments and risk management. This course is delivered online with weekly online tutorials.

Entry Requirements Domestic

Students will need to have basic computer skills, including knowledge of common computing terms and word processing, proficiency with web browser software and use of email, and familiarity with navigating the internet. Students will also need to have access to suitable technology and be capable of undertaking training and assessment online.

A Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) evaluation helps identify any areas where you may need additional support to help you achieve your goals.

Required Resources

Students will have 24/7 access to assessments and learning resources on CDU's online learning platform Learnline. Before using Learnline however, students will need to ensure that their computer has the correct setup.

Computer and internet access will be required to participate in online sessions, source information and complete assessments.

Students are issued with a Learner Guide for each unit of study. Learner resources will be provided through the online learning platform, Learnline.

Students will need to meet technology requirements to engage with the course and to use Learnline, Web Conferencing and O365 Teams:

Reasonable quality computer with current operating system and processing speed
High-speed broadband connection (recommended)
Monitor with at least 1024x768 screen resolution (recommended), headset and webcam
Current web browser: Firefox, Chrome and Safari (Recommended)

Microsoft 365 Teams App, and current versions of Firefox and Chrome are available for IOS and Android for free.

This program is delivered over a period of 12 weeks part-time. The length of time to complete this qualification will depend on the location, study mode and/or units selected and will vary depending upon how long a student takes to reach the required competency level.
