Unit Catalogue

This unit examines the ways learning design and digital technologies can provide appropriate and innovative solutions that align with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) articulated by UNESCO. It considers how to address such challenges within a global context connecting contemporary learning theories through pragmatic teaching and learning practice supported by digital technologies. Such solutions consider culture, context appropriateness, available resources, and sustainability. In particular, the unit focuses on the field of Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) where emerging international issues in specific situations need addressing. In developing their 'futures-thinking' capacity to address these issues, students will develop an understanding of the changes, problems, and challenges driving the ongoing international digital revolution. Students identify emerging trends and issues and conceive plausible futures where digital technologies with appropriate pedagogy can stimulate and sustain learning and provide solutions to local and national needs.
