| In this unit, students will learn about the theory and application of advanced shear strength and consolidation concepts; analytical and numerical analysis techniques to design foundations; slope stability; and geotechnical engineering processes. The unit links to, and draws upon, the engineering aspects of design, construction management, construction health and safety, sustainability, soil mechanics, fluid mechanics, statics, and dynamics and students will have the opportunity to explore the implications of geotechnical engineering solutions on health safety and the environment.
