| This unit will draw on current research on learning and teaching adolescents in the 21st Century context. Pre-service teachers will develop their understanding of pedagogy and teaching practice in relation to research, professional practice and the Australian Curriculum. Their understanding of adolescence will be extended and applied to development of learning and teaching experiences and resources. Contemporary issues in the secondary school will be critically examined in light of professional experiences, life experiences and academic research. Ultimately, pre-service teachers will critically engage and evaluate teaching philosophy and pedagogy in the 21st Century in relation to technological advancements such as virtual and augmented realities and gaming technology. |
