Unit Description

This unit examines a range of structural, material, construction and environmental control methods for medium to large industrial scale building typologies. Typical construction systems will be compared and evaluated applying Australian codes and standards. Students will apply their building technology knowledge to develop construction details and drawings using appropriate communication methods.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Analyse structural, construction and environmental control systems identifying factors that influence their selection for industrial buildings.
2.	Evaluate methods of construction, services, environmental control and sustainability in construction projects.
3.	Apply materials, structural and construction knowledge to create architectural drawings.
