1.   | Identify, discuss and analyse important themes and foundational concepts in Human Rights Law in relation to human rights violations domestically and transnationally. |
2.   | Analyse and evaluate the structure and features of Human Rights Law principles pursuant to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and other international conventions signed and/or ratified by Australia. |
3.   | Critically evaluate Human Rights Law concepts and legal mechanisms by operation of international conventions and treaties and Australian domestic law. This includes an understanding of the principles, legislation underpinning human rights law in Australia and engage the broader international, transnational and comparative context. |
4.   | Apply legal problem solving skills by using Human Rights Law principles and case law in providing advice on human rights violations in hypothetical problem and actual case law situations. |
5.   | Communicate in ways that are persuasive and effective for legal and non-legal audiences, in written and oral form, in the Human Rights context. |
