Unit Description

The aim of this unit is to support students in integrating digital technology into learning environments with a view to developing transformative, critically-informed and forward-looking innovations within their own work areas. Throughout the unit, sense making, student wellbeing, equity and internationalisation are construed as the key pillars of pedagogic innovation. Overall, the unit links the use of technology with the conceptual developments that shift literacy pedagogies from their conventional position to positivistic frameworks that support data literacy and critical and multidisciplinary thinking and practice in view of current and future challenges.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Evaluate a range of information and communication technology (ICT) tools and their role in enhancing literacies, specialist area education programs and general data skills.
2.	Discuss and position developments in information and communication technology (ICT) literacies and learning in relation to global issues, including student wellbeing, equity and diversity, privacy and security issues of data in an on-line educational environment.
3.	Integrate technology into learning environments by drawing on and applying cross-disciplinary research and frameworks.
4.	Conceptualise, communicate and draft a technology-based innovation in a professional context with a focus on digital literacies and data literacy.
5.	Engage with professional, information and communication technology (ICT) or digital technology associations, nationally and internationally on issues relevant to their discipline areas.
