Unit Description

This unit will develop the knowledge and skills required to examine and plan from Australian and State/Territory curriculum documents. Specific attention to the teaching strategies that support development of skills, knowledge, understanding, and application required for senior secondary assessment requirements, for music, will be a focus of this unit.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Apply pedagogical knowledge and teaching strategies, including explicit teaching, modelling and scaffolding relevant to the teaching of senior secondary music.
2.	Apply effective pedagogies, including the use of digital technologies, for supporting diverse learners.
3.	Apply discipline knowledge of musical proficiency and knowledge of relevant curriculum documents when planning and designing learning experiences including the integration of literacy and numeracy skills.
4.	Develop an understanding of First Nations knowledges and practices relating to music.
5.	Apply various teaching strategies and resources to the development of a teaching philosophy that supports development of diverse students to success.
