In this unit students propose, develop and implement a component of a research project that will constitute the exegesis of their study project at a Postgraduate level. The nature of the project will be determined by the student's initial proposal, developed in conjunction with a supervisor and be indicative of the students capacity to undertake advanced research within their chosen discipline.
Students will, as a result of studying in this unit, demonstrate an element of their abilities to draft a coherent project proposal, apply a set of critical and theoretical parameters from the field and show evidence of a capacity for rigorous analytical assessment and evaluation of their creative work and/or the context of its exhibition.
Enrolment in this unit will signal that a component of their thesis work in the compilation or development of a creative work that is placed on exhibition and the methodology of the creation explained and critiqued. All students are required to enrol in a combination of units to fulfill the requirement of their study program. Where the creation or design of artifacts is a component of this research, at least one instance of enrolment in this unit should comprise part of the research work for the course.
