In this unit, students will delve into biomechanics and movement analysis, gaining a comprehensive understanding of biomechanical principles and their application in analysing human movement. Through various methods (including in-person methods), students gain hands-on experience in biomechanical analysis, learning to apply these skills in clinical and sports performance contexts. They'll also develop the ability to recognise biomechanical problems in individuals and implement appropriate interventions. Students will investigate the relationships between static and dynamic forces in biomechanics, enhancing their understanding of the underlying principles. By the end of the unit, students will emerge with a strong foundation in biomechanics and movement analysis, prepared to apply their knowledge in clinical and research settings. This unit will contribute to the knowledge and skills students require for accreditation as an Exercise Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
*This unit contains a 5 day intensive at the Casuarina campus. This is compulsory for ALL students to meet ESSA accreditation requirements*
Students enrolled in WESS02 must be concurrently enrolled in SPE203 unless previously passed
