Unit Description

In this unit students will develop their theoretical understanding of second language testing and apply this knowledge to classroom contexts. The objective of this unit is to engage with the development, implementation and management of effective second language testing and its roles within language education. This will encompass engagement with various language testing strategies, while exploring validity, reliability, and feedback mechanisms.

1.	Analyse theoretical concepts and principles of second language testing.
2.	Evaluate and discuss contemporary language testing measures in connection with specific classroom contexts.
3.	Apply knowledge of key language testing concepts to design language testing resources for classroom use.
4.	Reflect on and analyse relationships between language testing and teaching and learning outcomes.
