In this unit students will review, evaluate, and apply theoretical and applied principles of Global Englishes to educative and sociolinguistic contexts. The objectives of this unit are to promote engagement with and discussion of English's development and to examine its roles within society across varied contexts. Students will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of Global Englishes through researching sociolinguistic implications, and how underpinning principles, concepts, strategies and resources can be applied to teaching and learning environments.
