| This unit examines advanced structural, construction, building science and environmental knowledge applicable to architectural practice, where students develop skills to provide integrated solutions to complex design problems as part of the design and detailing process. This includes the use of emerging and innovative materials, systems and technologies; sustainable construction methods and materials; building services; energy use and evaluation; strategies for the heating, cooling and lighting of buildings; assessment of building performance; and application of relevant building codes and standards. |
