Unit Description

This unit provides a capstone experience for students wishing to share their professional knowledge and theoretical understandings gleaned throughout their course of study by preparing a paper for presentation at a relevant professional conference. Students will draw on their theoretical and professional knowledge in preparing and submitting their paper in line with the conference theme and expectations. Students will be mentored and supported by academic staff in the College throughout this process.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Apply mastery of theoretical knowledge and skills to reflect critically on theoretical and professional practices and scholarship by producing a paper for presentation at a professional conference.
2.	Plan, conduct and present a substantial piece of scholarship in the field of education and/or training by producing a paper for presentation at a professional conference.
3.	Investigate, analyse and evaluate complex theoretical principles and concepts and their application to different contexts by producing a paper for presentation at a professional conference.
4.	Enhance research skills in education to justify and interpret theoretical propositions, methodologies and conclusions to inform professional decision making by producing a paper for presentation at a professional conference.
5.	Evaluate and apply knowledge and skills creatively to contemporary situations in professional practice and further learning by producing a paper for presentation at a professional conference.
