Unit Description

The knowledge and skills acquired in the design, experimentation, analysis, management and communications aspects of an honours course are brought together in an individual research project undertaken by the student under the guidance of supervisors. The research project can be carried out within a university, industry or government setting.

The unit includes mandatory research skills training workshops and exercises and weekly meetings with supervisors.

The Honours Thesis is completed over two semesters by completing ENG721 Honours Thesis Part A (first enrolment) and ENG722 Honours Thesis Part B (second enrolment).

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Review and amend if necessary the methodology to investigate the research problem.
2.	Implement planned research procedures, including the design and construction of equipment as relevant.
3.	Finalise data collection, critically analyse data and evaluate research results.
4.	Disseminate research findings and recommendations through a well constructed thesis.
