Unit Catalogue

The unit offers broad introductory knowledge to remote sensing, demonstrated through experiential learning. Through this unit, students will be able to evaluate remote sensing concepts such as electromagnetic spectrum and atmospheric window, interactions of light with the atmosphere and terrestrial and oceanic features, and classification of land cover types using machine learning techniques. The unit comprises hands-on practical activities that give students experience in using satellite and drone imagery to tackle environmental and agricultural problems. The unit connects students with industry as students gain experience in using industry-relevant tools such as Google Earth Engine for automating remote sensing workflow.
