Unit Catalogue

This unit provides students with an opportunity to undertake 40 hours of professional practice in an educational setting, applying culturally responsive pedagogies and foundational teaching skills. Aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and grounded in First Nations perspectives, this unit enables students to engage with children, educators, and community members in ways that reflect ethical teaching practices and inclusive learning environments. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, students will plan and deliver learning experiences, reflect on their teaching, and demonstrate effective communication and collaboration. This unit supports the development of professional identity, pedagogical knowledge, and classroom practice, with a focus on culturally safe learning. All assessment tasks must be satisfactorily completed to pass this unit.
