Through exploration of real-world examples and current global health challenges, this unit invites students to investigate those global trends and environmental factors that have a profound effect on population health. Concepts such as globalisation are analysed, and students are guided to review current global health issues and the role of both Australian and international agencies in addressing these issues. With a strong focus on environmental health, students will reflect on their own surroundings and consider how health and illness can be initiated, promoted, or sustained by environmental conditions. This unit offers students the opportunity for international study with options for student exchange and international study tours.
