Successful completion of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Creative Arts or equivalent.

Unit Description

In this unit students consider how research methods can be applied as instruments for creative enquiry and how creative practice can lead research. The unit exposes students to a variety of tools and methods that drive discovery and push creative practice forward. The unit will also offer examples and case studies where creative practice as research has produced outcomes which can demonstrate significant community impact. Students engage in research to develop, refine and share their creative contributions to knowledge. Students gain an understanding of the role of the exegesis and its relationship to their creative arts research, exploring examples of exegetical writing.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Identify, evaluate and implement research methods appropriate to the arts and creative arts disciplines.
2.	Analyse and develop research questions and proposals suited to the arts and creative arts with relevant ethical, safety, sustainable and culturally responsive practices.
3.	Examine and review research through the arts and creative practice methods.
4.	Apply, analyse and discuss creative practice as research projects and outcomes.
5.	Integrate reflection and critique into the arts and creative research process.
