In this unit students will review, evaluate, and apply semantic principles and understandings to a wide range of language contexts. The unit aims to promote engagement with and discussion of how different kinds of meaning can be represented in language at the lexical, phrasal and sentential levels, as well as considering how meaning is dependent on context. The unit explores meaning across different languages, including First Nations languages, providing opportunities to examine how languages can reflect different perspectives and worldviews.
