Unit Description

Students will, as a result of studying in this unit (or a combination of this and other masters Research units), demonstrate an element of their abilities to draft a coherent project proposal, and see that progress through an initial outline to research findings, and high level analysis and critique lead to evidenced findings. They will demonstrate an understanding of project management and a capacity to work to deadlines, applying a set of critical and theoretical parameters from the field, showing evidence of a capacity for deep and rigorous analytical assessment and evaluation.

Important Information

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Critique a range of resources and evaluate their reliability and relevance to a chosen field of complex research.
2.	Apply evaluative and critical thinking skills to solve research problems in innovative ways for a chosen field of research.
3.	Critically review and evaluate theoretical knowledge relevant to a chosen field of complex research.
4.	Apply an appropriate and critically reviewed methodology to the research project in question.
5.	Conduct research in a manner that reflects appropriate cultural sensitivity in the context of research in a chosen field.
6.	Present and critically analyse research findings in the light of relevant theoretical, methodological and cultural frameworks.
7.	Communicate research findings and analysis in a thesis format.
