Unit Description

Students will, as a result of studying in this unit (or a combination of this and other masters Research units), demonstrate an element of their abilities to draft a coherent project proposal, and see that proposition through, from initial outline to research findings, and high level analysis and critique. They will demonstrate an understanding of project management and a capacity to work to deadlines, apply a set of critical and theoretical parameters from the field and show evidence of a capacity for deep and rigorous analytical assessment and evaluation.

Important Information

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Critique a range of resources and evaluate their reliability and relevance to a chosen field of complex research.
2.	Apply evaluative and critical thinking skills to solve research problems in innovative ways for a chosen field of research.
3.	Critically review and evaluate theoretical knowledge relevant to a chosen field of complex research.
4.	Apply an appropriate and critically reviewed methodology to the research project in question.
5.	Conduct research in a manner that reflects appropriate cultural sensitivity in the context of research in a chosen field.
6.	Present and critically analyse research findings in the light of relevant theoretical, methodological and cultural frameworks.
7.	Communicate research findings and analysis in a thesis format.
