| This is the final practical unit in a series of six clinical midwifery units. Students will provide midwifery care to women and when required, within multi-disciplinary and interprofessional teams to develop and consolidate their knowledge, skills, and attributes. With their peer's support, students are enabled to investigate strategies that will enhance their self-care, mitigate personal risk, and ensure their continual growth and professional development in a sustainable midwifery future. To meet accreditation requirements students must demonstrate capacity to establish, build, maintain and close continuity of midwifery care with women in their Continuity of Midwifery Care Experiences (CoMCE). Students will also attend 32 hours of simulation block (hurdle) and complete 240 hours Professional Experience Placement (PEP) (hurdle) allocated by CDU as a part of this unit. Please refer to the Faculty of Health website for further details on the requirements for placements and other important information. |
