In this unit students will participate in Professional Experience Placement in a health care setting to consolidate their knowledge, skills and attributes required for safe, competent practice as registered nurses. Students will demonstrate person-centred care and professional competencies within third year scope of practice for a student registered nurse in the management of patient care. Placements may occur in either a high acuity setting or an extended care setting.
To meet accreditation requirements students must attend 160 clinical placement hours (hurdle) (allocated by the Faculty of Health Placement Office) as a part of this unit.
Students can only undertake their 160 hours of Professional Experience Placement after they have successfully completed NUR360 Simulation Block.
