This unit will further students in their journey to become a Nurse Practitioner (NP). This unit will emphasise diagnostic reasoning and applying the principles of hypothetical deductive reasoning. During the diagnostic reasoning, differential diagnoses will be rejected and diagnosis confirmed. The NP student will develop a holistic management plan for the person receiving care. While developing the plan and prescribing treatment, students will educate and support others to enable their active participation in the care.
This unit includes a compulsory intensive week on campus and the remainder of the coursework is offered externally and requires online learning throughout the unit.
This unit is only available to students enrolled in the SNNP01/SNNP02 Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner).
Students are expected to meet all costs for travel and accommodation for the compulsory intensive week.
