This unit explores the role of the primary health care nurse across practice environments. Students will draw on the principles of primary health care and examine their relevance in contemporary practice. Guided by evidence and research, students will explore the core attributes and scope of the registered nurse working in primary health care and their influence and impact on the health and wellbeing of the individuals and community in which they practice and at a national level. Students will engage with inquiry-based learning and case studies to build knowledge that supports culturally safe and person-centred care.
This unit is only available to students enrolled in the UPHCN1 Graduate Certificate of Primary Health Care and SCNU01 Master of Clinical Nursing.
