Unit Catalogue

This unit extends on the knowledge gained in Primary Healthcare Practice and the role of the primary health care nurse in the urban setting. Students will engage in a mandatory face-to-face on-campus simulation intensive conducted over 3 days where they will expand their knowledge and skills in the provision of primary healthcare in urban settings. Using case studies and inquiry-based learning students will explore the provision of care within the urban primary health care environments. Guided by evidence and research, students will integrate the underpinning theory of practice using primary healthcare principles with practical application to build advanced practice skills relevant to their context of practice.

Students are to cover the costs for travel and accommodation.

This unit is only available to students enrolled in the UPHCN1 Graduate Certificate of Primary Health Care and SCNU01 Master of Clinical Nursing.
