Unit Description

This unit enables students to develop discipline-specific professional skills and to establish and develop professional networks by undertaking a placement within industry, working in an area of environmental science. It allows students to apply their scientific knowledge and skills within a professional context, and assists them to develop the skills needed to operate as professional environmental scientists. The unit may also provide the opportunity for students to prepare for their research project.

Online enrolment is not available for this unit due to placement requirements. Students are required to discuss placement options with the lecturer at least 2 weeks before the start of the semester so suitable placement options can be arranged. To enrol, Special Enrolment is required through eForms.

Assessment items are based on technical aspects of work undertaken and professional practices during the placement.
