In this exercise physiology unit, students will explore the functions and interactions of physiological systems in relation to exercise. Students will gain an understanding of how the body responds to exercise compared to rest, assessing and differentiating these responses. Students will learn to measure and interpret various physiological parameters relevant to exercise and health appropriately. Through in-person hands-on activities and theoretical study, students will develop the skills needed to analyse the complex interplay between the body's systems during exercise. By the end of the unit, students will emerge with a comprehensive understanding of exercise physiology relevant to health, fitness and sport performance contexts. This unit will contribute to the knowledge and skills students require for accreditation as an Exercise Scientist with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
*This unit contains a 5 day intensive at the Casuarina campus. This is compulsory for ALL students to meet ESSA accreditation requirements*
