Unit Catalogue

This unit explores how language is acquired through critical analysis of different linguistic, sociocultural and psychological approaches to language and learning. Students explore how these approaches apply to different language learning contexts, including first and second language acquisition, bilingualism and multilingualism, and autonomous language learning. Additionally, this unit explores the role of technology in language acquisition. Students apply key language learning theories to their own language teaching context/ a chosen language teaching context to identify key considerations for effective language acquisition.
