Unit Catalogue

The primary focus of this unit is to provide opportunity for students to understand critically reflective practice for their ongoing learning as tertiary educators. Through a critically reflective practice lens, students will identify an aspect of their professional practice relating to student learning and prepare a proposal to 'research' their teaching practice and report its outcomes. The nature of this research will depend upon their work and interests. A critically reflective practice approach identifies strengths and gaps to improve professional practice. This unit allows students to report their practice and disseminate findings and ideas about higher education teaching and learning practice to other practitioners. This reporting process provides a foundation and encouragement for students to research and publish about the teaching of their discipline, thus providing further opportunity for research outputs.
