In this unit, you will build on the language skills and cultural knowledge developed in Indonesian Language 4. You will develop your ability to communicate flexibly and effectively in Indonesian for academic, professional and social purposes. Through authentic texts, media and extended communicative activities, you will interpret complex spoken and written texts and produce well-structured communication on a broad range of contemporary topics.
You will refine your ability to present, evaluate and justify ideas using language appropriate to the audience, purpose, and context. Through critical engagement with Indonesian society, culture, literature and media, you will strengthen your intercultural communication and use Indonesian confidently in extended interactions.
Through the integrated study of language and culture, you will strengthen your intercultural awareness and prepare for advanced study as an independent user of Indonesian.
Upon completion of the unit, you will demonstrate a high degree of fluency and accuracy in Indonesian and be able to communicate confidently and effectively across a broad range of contexts.
