Unit Catalogue

In this unit students will learn about industrial audiology and hearing screening including an understanding of relevant standards and legislation. Students will learn how to implement and justify hearing screening programs for both adult and pediatric populations in a variety of contexts. Students will be able to make appropriate recommendations for the prevention of noise-induced hearing loss. Through clinical audiology placement students will develop clinical assessment and communication skills by participating in a real-world audiology caseload under the supervision of an accredited audiologist. Although every effort is made to locate a placement close to the student's place of residence, students should plan for the possibility of travel across the Northern Territory.
