Unit Description

This unit will provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to practice as a clinical psychologist. The advanced application of inclusive and culturally responsive assessment and treatment of psychological disorders will be explored across the lifespan. Working from a scientist-practitioner model, students will develop competencies related to the synthesis of behavioural, psychometric, and clinical interview data to inform case formulation, diagnosis and intervention.
Students will attend 6 day-long (6 hours) workshops during the semester.

1.	Integrate advanced theoretical knowledge and skills in the use of assessment tools and processes related to a wide range of psychological disorders.
2.	Effectively communicate evidence-based synthesis of assessment data to information intervention strategies in both oral and written format.
3.	Competently apply reflective, inclusive and culturally sensitive techniques when conducting psychological assessments, producing treatment plans and conducting clinical interventions.
4.	Compare, contrast and differentiate complex clinical presentations.
