Unit Description

This unit introduces the real process of science by investigating the human body and how it responds to change. Science skills will be learnt through completing practical tasks, communicating experimental results and evaluating the fairness of tests focused on the human body. It is through these explorations of science, fair tests and the human body that the critical thinking, literacy and numeracy skills needed to study science at university will be developed.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Describe and explain how the human body functions as a biological system.
2.	Apply knowledge of biological concepts to explain results of experiments.
3.	Correctly present results of fair tests as tables, graphs and written descriptions.
4.	Apply knowledge of fair tests to interpret and evaluate the methodology and results of experiments.
5.	Communicate through a scientific report to address a scientific question using scientific conventions and standards.
