Unit Catalogue

This postgraduate unit will build on knowledge and skills developed by pre-service teachers in the unit ECM514. Through critical reflection and synthesis of current research literature and the Australian Curriculum, pre-service teachers will develop an in-depth knowledge and the skills to support students to transition and succeed in senior secondary geography education. Pre-service teachers will draw on their specialist subject knowledge of geography to develop their critical understanding of pedagogical content knowledge and professional practice for the senior secondary years. Critically engaging and evaluating their professional practice they will develop ability to prepare senior secondary geography students for professional engagement beyond the school environment.
