This unit introduces key architectural design concepts and approaches illustrated within a broad historical and theoretical framework. A strong focus is placed on developing a comprehensive architectural vocabulary and analytical understanding of architecture; identifying the approaches taken to the design and production of architecture and their underpinning philosophies. Students will explore a range of techniques to interpret historical and theoretical design knowledge; and includes the critical reading, analysis and interpretation of text and drawings.
