This unit explores the nature of property rights and human rights within the context of contemporary Indigenous Australian society. An introductory grounding in the theoretical and conceptual framework of property rights and human rights within this context is established and a review of current instruments for the establishment and assertion of rights is constructed. A critique of the current social and political landscape both locally and internationally is introduced with a view to developing an understanding of workable and just models for equitable and culturally accountable social and economic participation.
