Unit Description

This unit is a continuation to Hearing Aids and Aural Rehabilitation. The unit includes candidacy, fitting, and management of implantable devices, bimodal candidacy and management, tele-audiology, and tinnitus assessment and rehabilitation.

Students are expected to attend a 5 day faceto-face intensive on campus as part of their learning for this unit.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Critically evaluate information from assessment results, theoretical knowledge, research publications, and manufacturers to formulate clinically sound decisions in the recommendation and management of implantable devices.
2.	Design, evaluate, and review individually tailored assessment and rehabilitation plans for tinnitus.
3.	Adapt assessment and rehabilitation plans to be culturally appropriate and responsive.
4.	Design and apply novel approaches to tele-audiology.
