Unit Description

In this unit, preservice teachers will learn through experiences of music and movement from the perspective of the learner and teacher; working with the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum to support the use of music and movement in learning activities.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Design learning experiences focusing on music and movement.
2.	Analyse the dynamic interactions between mind and body, learning and movement.
3.	Identify the pedagogical and curricular approaches which support the use of music and movement to meet learning outcomes for children birth to 12 years.
4.	Critically reflect on the role of the teacher in establishing supporting learning environments, including opportunities for music and movement in daily learning experience.
5.	Analyse the relationship between music, movement and culture, and how music and movement can support inclusive classrooms.
