| The global incidence of communicable disease outbreaks, natural disasters and human made disasters has significantly increased over recent years with a measurable impact on the health of people. These disaster events require a multi-agency response across many different paradigms, one of which is health.
The health response is complex and dynamic, and the unit will explore detailed planning, preparedness, and response to mitigate the health impact of these events. This unit will cover the fundamental principles, knowledge, and skills to enable the student to contribute as an effective team member in the preparedness and response for health emergencies.
