This unit builds on the knowledge, skills and proficiency achieved in Greek Language 3. As per the previous unit there are two interconnected components being Greek language and culture. In Greek language students will improve conversational and compositional skills based on a variety of contemporary themes: history and the modern society and contemporary issues in the context of Greek-Australian relations. Greek culture will focus on a range of Greek cultural, historical and literary issues, as well as various genres of text in modern Greek, and particularly modern Greek literature e.g. Greek migration to Australia; Byzantine world; Asia Minor; history of Greek music, 20th century Greek literature, culture and tradition.
Students wishing to enrol in the in-country offering should refer to the Greek In-Country Language program for further information.
