This unit is for students enrolled in the First Nations Pre-Law Program.
The First Nations Pre-Law Program as a four-week long intensive for students who are considering applying for an undergraduate law degree. Students will undertake learning experiences needed for successful participation in a law degree by exploring the foundational skills, knowledge and relationships needed to study law. This unit will focus on Legal Reasoning and Advocacy, key skill areas that include application of the Issue Rule Application Conclusion (IRAC) legal reasoning process. Students explore the foundations of legal argument and learn how to apply these through in-class presentations and debates.
