This unit consists of a minimum of 450 hours of professional practice experience related to the engineering specialisation of study, i.e. Chemical, Civil and Structural, Electrical and Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.
The professional practice experience would normally be completed by a 12-week work placement either on-site or in an engineering office. However, approved alternative professional practice activities or a combination of work placement and approved alternative professional practice activities might also be acceptable. For further details, refer to Learnline.
Full-time students usually complete a work placement during semester breaks.
This unit does not contribute any credit points toward the completion of the degree, but it is a course requirement that it is completed satisfactorily.
