This unit analyses the ways evidence based policy is developed and operated in northern contexts, with a particular focus on the intersection of Indigenous and non-Indigenous knowledge systems. The unit provides an overview of the ways Indigenous knowledge systems assess value, Indigenous people and communities experiences of external research and evaluation to date, and how they think it should be experienced in the future. The unit examines the approaches for evaluating policy in a range of Indigenous contexts.
