| In this unit, students will develop practical knowledge and skills in the research process inclusive of: critique of the literatures, identification and addressment of ethical principles and processes, preparation of a research proposal, conduct data collection and analysis, and disseminate findings. Students will undertake an independent research project in an area of nutrition; the topic should be current, relevant and attempt to fill identified gaps in the literature, policy and/or practice. Students are expected to work both independently and in liaison with identified supervisor(s). The project scope needs to be achievable for completion and dissemination in the designated time frame. All students need to submit pre-placement documentation prior to the commencement of the semester in order to undertake their research project and successfully complete the unit.
