This unit will explore and address the variations in defining remote practice. Students will appraise an inclusive way to interpret the different meanings of isolated practice as well as the scope of practice in the remote sector. The evolving demands on remote nurses include providing health services that incorporate public health, preventative health care and evidence-based clinical practice in a culturally appropriate and safe manner, in partnership with individuals and communities. This requires a high level of self-awareness, autonomy, extended knowledge and skills across the lifespan and full spectrum of health promotion, health literacy, disease management, risk reduction, and emergency procedures and evacuations.
Online enrolment is not available for this unit. To enrol, Special Enrolment is required through eForms. If further academic advice is required, please contact the Post Graduate Nursing Coordinator on postgraduatenursing@cdu.edu.au.
