In this unit, students will learn about communication development and use, including development of language, speech cognition and sensory-motor skills, as well as typical changes associated with ageing. They will explore variations resulting from cultural and linguistic diversity, with a particular focus on Indigenous languages and dialects. Students will be introduced to the 'International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health' framework and will use this as a basis to analyse their own communication context.
